Terms of Service

By using Spencheck ("the app"), you agree to the following terms.

Not financial advice

Spencheck is a personal expense-tracking tool. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Figures like projected spend, GST breakdowns, or investment gain/loss are calculated from the data you enter and are for your own reference only — verify anything important (tax filings, loan payoff amounts, investment values) against your bank, broker, or a qualified professional before relying on it.

Your data, your responsibility

You're responsible for the accuracy of what you enter or import (including CSV bank-statement imports and SMS-detected transactions you accept). Auto-detected and auto-categorised entries are best-effort suggestions, not guarantees — always review before relying on a total or report.

Your locally-stored data lives on your device and is protected by AES-256 encryption. If you forget your App Lock PIN, lose your device, or clear its storage without having Cloud backup turned on, that data is cryptographically locked and completely unrecoverable by us. We cannot bypass your encryption to help you recover lost data.

Account and cloud backup

Creating an account is optional and only needed for Cloud backup. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what Cloud backup stores and where.

You may delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your Firebase sign-in and your cloud-backed data, and clears this device's local data as well — the deletion cannot be undone.

No warranty

Spencheck is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We work to keep calculations (budgets, EMI schedules, interest, projections) accurate, but we're not liable for financial decisions made based on the app's output, or for data loss from a device failure, uninstall, or a bug.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
